Ah, it’s that time! Holiday Gift Guides are everywhere and I love pulling together mine because it helps me plan out my own personal lists. So yes, it’s a bit selfish but it’s also fun. Today I’m sharing my Holiday Gift Guide for The Person Who Has Everything (aka PWHE – yes I just made that up). Everyone has a person in their life who appears to just have it all. For me, that person is my dad. It’s not that he has a lot of material things, it’s that he doesn’t desire many material things so finding something he really will enjoy is a challenge. It involves careful listening and stocking away ideas for awhile. Of course, for your PWHE, you’ll have to do the same, but hopefully some of these ideas might give you a place to start!
Free them from cable! We went cable free awhile back and haven’t looked back. Your PWHE probably already has a great TV. If you think they might be ready to ditch cable, give them a streaming device (like this Roku that we have) and a digital antenna. Armed with those two things, they will have great access to almost all of their favorite television – anything else they want they can most likely pay a little bit extra for.
Yes. Adele. If they somehow haven’t bought her new album, then make them so happy (well, sad but happy) and handle that.
A good book is always appreciated. You’ll have to think about what their reading style is but here are a few that I may be buying (for myself or others) this season:
Yes, it’s a coloring book. My friend Abby over at Back At Square Zero loves her adult coloring books and she’s not the only one. I kind of want to try one out. I’m willing to bet your PWHE probably doesn’t have this!
Um, hello. My husband may be getting this for Christmas! Mostly because then I can read it too. 🙂
Even though I’m breaking up with The Walking Dead (kind of, more on that later this week), this is a cool gift. Find it here.
I love my Kindle Fire HD so much that I’m always recommending it. If your PWHE doesn’t have this, then get on it. Buy it here.
While I’m not a coffee drinker, I appreciate that it’s serious business for most folks and your PWHE probably does as well. Hook them up & buy this fancy looking (but not crazy expensive) coffee maker here.
Even the PWHE can do with another lovely option for cozy sleeping. This just speaks to me and says “stay in bed all day!” Find it here.
Something involving your time. This could be a surprise spa day, a day of wine tasting or just a home cooked meal. For the PWHE, the one thing they can’t buy is you. Spending time with loved ones is always a gift. Make sure to check out my gift guide for foodies and gift guide: online edition for more gift ideas!
What are you getting your PWHE?? What should I add to this list?
I like your list and here are a few things to add: A donation to their favorite charity or organization in their name makes a great gift. One year I gave my sister a chocolate club certificate and every few months I sent her chocolates of some sort!

oooh two great ideas! I especially like the donation idea!
My dad is also a PWHE for the same reason – he never really ask for anything! Every year I have to think long and hard on what to get him but I got some good ideas from your list – Thanks!

Glad it was helpful – I THINK I know what I’m getting my dad but I’m not 100% yet. Dads can be hard!
My parents are definitely my PWHE. The gifts that work the best for them tend to be gifts involving time and shared experiences too. The other option that seems to work well for them are sentimental or photo things, so I think this year I’m going to make them a photo book of our family vacation together.

That’s a great idea! My mom is getting something similar!
This is definitely my mom and what makes it even more tough is that her birthday is also in December! My sisters and I were just talking about what to get her this year so these ideas are coming at a great time. Thanks!

lol. let’s do it – we need a driver, though 🙂
YUP! ask K 😉
yes, he is a natural choice…but he’s working all these extra shifts this month. boo! i mean, yay but boo! lol.
I love the idea of a spa day or home cooked meal. I’ve actually done the meal thing once or twice for my stepdad and he loved it. Another fun idea could be a cooking class together!

Oh a cooking class is a GREAT idea!
Breaking up with TWD? Say it isn’t so! I have yet to see the mid-season finale so I hope it doesn’t have anything to do with that. I’m so in love with that show and it’s pretty much the only one I’m watching right now!!
I love PWHE and I have two on my list! Thanks for giving me some original ideas 🙂

I haven’t watched an episode since the one where Glenn “was killed.” I love the show as well, but as I’ll write about, it’s just TOO stressful for me, lol!
My dad is a PWHE and I usually get him and my mom a gift certificate for a restaurant in Florida, where they spend the month of March. It isn’t as if they need any more stuff!

Thanks PERFECT! 🙂
Courtney, I have coloring books on my Amazon wish list!!! I can’t wait to try them out! I added colored pencils, too, since that seems to be “the thing” these days. We’ve had so many patients at the hospital ask for coloring books (adult patients!), so we’ve started buying them for patients, as well; it’s really neat. Thanks so much for sharing these ideas! You know that I’m with you on the Kindle Fire…EVERYONE needs one!

You know what, that’s perfect for someone in the hospital! Wow, so true. Thanks Tara!
These are some great ones! Adele = all the feels. Coffee is also always a good idea.

it’s the best, right??
Good ideas. My hubby is so incredibly hard to shop for. The man doesn’t want ANYTHING. Nor does he really NEED anything. The struggle is so real.
Fun ideas! Luckily my husband makes a list for me!
