Welcome to my monthly series where I share my blog stats and income with you. I was inspired to do this because I know of some bigger bloggers (like Pinch of Yum) who share their blog stats and income but I really didn’t see any smaller bloggers (like me! and maybe you!) who do so. I figured if I was looking for something like this, others might be as well, so I decided that I’d start sharing my monthly stats and income. Here’s my June blog stats and income report – I hope you find this helpful (you can find May’s report here)!
Ad income: 34.08 (BlogHer) +10.66 (Adsense) = 44.74
Affiliate income: 75
Total June income: $119.74
Total June pageviews: 14,820
June saw an increase in pageviews and a slight decrease in income, which is interesting because historically for me, pageviews drop in the summer. I had a couple of posts get circulated pretty liberally (mainly my post on body image – read it here) and that helped with the pageviews. I have big goals for the blog and some things I want to get done this summer. I’m hoping to take a couple of staycation days to get to spend a couple days just doing blog related things. That would be such an amazing luxury – not sure if I’ll be able to swing it but I’m certainly going to try.
It’s always interesting to me to see the ebs and flows of blogging and June was no exception. I expect July to look about the same as far as both income and stats go.
Do you enjoy reading these posts? Or would you prefer I send them out in email form to subscribers only?
I do enjoy the posts and think it’s interesting when bloggers share these sorts of things. That would be pretty awesome if you were able to do a blogcation.

Right? That is the goal!!!
I much prefer blogposts to email. I just go in to my reader and catch up when i can. Whereas email…nonurgent stuff just drops off and I don’t go back and read it.
Thanks for weighing in!
I like that you’re so transparent about this! And any income is better than none, right?
Wendy@Taking the Long Way Home recently posted…Product Review and a GIVEAWAY!: SLS3 HiP ZiPP
Yep, exactly. I make enough to offset costs plus more so that’s a win!
I’ve had some increase in views this summer as well as some higher paying campaigns. It is really interesting how things ebb and flow. I am still wondering about whether the ads are worth it or not? I have resisted so far. Thanks for sharing your info!

You just have to decide for yourself. However I will say that it’s better to do it sooner rather than later! People get used to things and will notice the difference more the longer you wait. I would maybe experiment with one. You can always remove it!
I truly appreciate how transparent you are with these posts. Since I’m trying to unsubscribe from a lot of e-mail lists and add more blogs to my Bloglovin feed, I’d love to continue to see you blog about your income.

Thanks Kathryn for your input – I really appreciate it!
I’m with you on that one Kathryn, I think Bloglovin’ is a fabulous tool to help us unclutter our e-mail inbox. You just have to be careful of some bloggers who accidentally/deliberately add you to their e-mail list without your consent. It’s happened to me a few times.
Nice to read of your successes this month Courtney. Did certain posts dominate your page views or was it quite evenly spread?
If those reader numbers keep rising then the income should look after itself 🙂

I agree with everyone I like these kind of posts I may do one for July. I am trying to figure out how to up my page views. Thanks for sharing.
Good to know, thanks!
I love reading these, so however you send them out is fine. Thanks for sharing as always!

Thanks Michelle!
I’ll add my vote in to say I really appreciate these posts as well. It’s really interesting to see the different ways someone can generate income from a blog and the way those sources can go up and down. I try to keep my email pared down and generally just follow blogs through bloglovin so I like that the information is posted here.

The same thing happens to me…I’ll have a great month with page views yet lower income. What gives? I do however enjoy reading posts like these, I always love to see how other bloggers choose to monetize their blogs.

it definitely ebbs and flows!
I appreciate your transparency and think it helps other bloggers so thank you! I don’t have a preference in terms of email or posting to your blog. With that said, its easily accessible on your blog and may help other bloggers find it when searching for these types of topics, so that’s a win! Like you said, I am sure others are wondering too!

Thanks – that seems to be the consensus.
I guess I am speaking to the choir but I also enjoy reading these reports too. I also think a staycation is a great idea just to get your mind refocused and am thinking about doing the same thing as well.

REALLLLLY hoping I can make that happen 🙂
I enjoy these posts! I think it’s good for all of us bloggers to share this info to help others see how they can grow and monetize – what works and doesn’t work. I hope to start a similar series soon.

You should! I’d look forward to reading it!
I like your monthly rev posts:) I would totally do them to, but I would feel too much like I was copying you:) and I don’t want to do that:)
I’ve had an odd summer. I’ve noticed my page views stats drop (as usual in the summer) but the income made on it has doubled that what I was making over the winter. I think I have just gotten into a few better campaign options with companies, granted these are social media campaigns very few blog alone related campaigns. Either way I have decided not to complain and just work on building my social media and slowing down on blogging to allow a little more time this summer for fun!

It’s not copying! You should totally do your reports – I love reading them and wouldn’t feel like you are copying at all!
What a great month, Courtney! I enjoy seeing how much you ROCK!! I subscribe to your blog via email, plus I follow on Bloglovin (which is how I normally read posts, these days), so I would definitely prefer that you continue blogging your successes. Hope you’re having a great day!!

Thanks for weighing in Tara – I’m definitely going to keep this series going on the blog based on all the feedback!
I do enjoy reading these posts too. While most bloggers are the most helpful people in the world, talking about pageviews and income is usually taboo. I love that you share.
My pageviews have gone up this summer too, but I think it is mostly because I’m laid off from work and spending time working the social media, etc. I’m scared that when I go back to work in October they’ll plunge!

No way! If you take the time you have now and set yourself up for this fall, I bet you’ll be in great shape!!
Thanks for sharing this with us! My summer stats usually drop but this year they haven’t. And I did not blog for 3 weeks. Maybe my readers are trying to tell me something?

I always find these posts interesting. I’ve had a surprisingly lucrative year, despite some struggles with losing motivation. Summer is never a good number time for me, but a lot of that is my lack of time to focus on it.

Look at you growing my dear! Great stats! And blogging can be so fickle can’t it. We can look at the trends all we want, but you never know what you’re traffics gonna do- or your sponsored posts!

So true that we just can’t predict what traffic is gonna do!!
Thanks for sharing this. I am always curious about what bloggers make and their stats. BUT… am conflicted when the desire to share my stuff because I was raised to NOT talk about money. Ha. Always a juggle.

Honestly, I think that not talking about it hurts others because they have no idea what to expect (especially for smaller bloggers). I really enjoyed reading others reports which is why I started doing my own!
I like these types of posts. I’m glad more bloggers are doing them because it inspires me to continue working on my blog bc you never now what opportunities it might lead to! Currently haven’t been really monetizing much because I have a lot going on so not much time to try to do sponsored posts/ads/etc. but hopefully in the future!

I enjoy reading your posts and find it inspiring to see your goals! I am still a super new blog so I’m always looking for new ideas and inspiration. Just took a new job that will allow me to work remotely and therefore have more time to blog…but now what comes next I’m not sure!

I just stumbled across you blog. WOW! is all I can say right now. I love your commitment to transparency. It one of those things that you don’t expect. But once someone does it it makes so much sense. This will be especially helpful as the blog grows. Your a champ girl! Keep building up the KINGDOM.
As for a staycation, go to SPAWORLD. Its about 30 min away. It’s a great place to chill and work. I go about once a month and recommend it to all my personal training clients. After about an hour in the pools and saunas, you will be feeling great and in a perfect space to create. As community servants it always good to take some serious time for yourself.
If your ever in Georgetown come see me at my fitness studio. Even if it’s just for a good foam roll and stretch after a long run.
I enjoy reading the posts! I subscribe via e-mail, too… so I guess it doesn’t much matter to me which way you distribute the information. Thanks for sharing, though!
I love this series and your honesty, and would prefer to see in on your blog as you’ve been doing.

send them out in email form to subscribers only? Blog posts is much better than email since we hardly read our emails.
