So, how’s it going with that new job/guy/etc…

June 19, 2012 By: project30in20123 Comments

Word on the street is that my “personal” posts are the most popular and that my friends really do care to read about what’s happening with my new job, my new relationship and the like. So I’ll tell you!

I start my new job on August 6th and I can’t wait. I had the opportunity to do some work with my new colleagues this past week and it really confirmed for me that I made the right decision. I will be incredibly sad to no longer work daily with the amazing people at TWC that have become friends, but I know the relationships I’ve built there will last.

And the man? Simply put, he is wonderful. We are learning about each other and our quarks and likes, dislikes and those little details that combine to define a person. I’m so grateful at how things have worked out between us.

The thing is, annoyingly, most of the little silly phrases that people say (you know when you know, it’s just right, etc) are actually true. I’ve known previously when things were just wrong. And I know now that they are right. I am so confident in this that I’ve taken him home to meet my parents. This might not mean much to some of y’all – but I haven’t take a guy home to meet the folks since I was college (some 8 years ago). So it was kinda a big deal. Since that all went well, I’m taking him to Jersey! My extended family is hosting a luncheon to celebrate my grandfather’s birthday next month and K is coming along. It’s a pretty awesome feeling to begin to weave someone into your family. It’s also pretty cool that K is doing the same on his end. I’ve met his family numerous times and I’m so excited about strengthening and growing our relationship.

So, in short, it is going incredibly well. Consider yourself updated on my personal life 🙂
