Hi y’all! It’s Wedding Wednesday today on the blog and I’m linking up again with Jordonย and Meredith. Make sure to check out their blogs (I particularly love Jordon’s post today) and visit other bloggers who’ve linked up.
Today, I’m hoping y’all will help me narrow down my shoe choices! As I’ve mentioned, we are going with a navy and yellow (with grey here and there) color scheme and as such, I want to wear navy peep toe pumps for the wedding. I’ve found a few options and would love some opinions — tell me what you love, hate or think should be THE SHOE!
- Choice 1ย – for some reason, the color doesn’t change when I click on navy, but imagine this in navy. I like it because the heel is manageable, it’s cute but simple and I can easily see wearing these again and again.
- Choice 2 – if I was Carrie Bradshaw, I’d be saying “hello, lover” to these bad boys. Wow. Kinda pricey, but they are simply gorgeous. I LOVE them!
- Choice 3 – I like these but they feel more like a day at the office rather than a wedding, no?
Also, I’m debating whether or not I want to wear a veil. I’m leaning towards yes because to me, a veil screams bride. But I’m curious…did you wear a veil? Why or why not? Weigh in below ๐
I like #2! Although #1 is cute too, less expensive and you can always add some crystals onto the toe =)
thanks lady ๐
Love the Navy! I like 1 or 2. I’d splurge and go for 2 as they are pretty awesome. I didn’t wear a veil and was happy with my choice. It’s all a personal preference so go with what feels good to you.
I love #2 but practicality wise, the #1s win. They’re really cute too. If you envision wearing #2 a lot even after the wedding, then I could see justifying them. I like #3 but I agree they seem less wedding-y. And I’m not sure the patent leather would work with most wedding dresses.

So, I haven’t cried over a dress at all but when they put a veil on me, I totally tear up. I vote YES all the way. You can also make or get one online for way less than the hundreds of dollars they try to get you to spend at bridal stores. Obviously, I’m biased so feel free to disregard my thoughts ๐ Have you tried any yet?
I love love love #2 on the shoes. Check 6pm or Zappos or DSW. All of those carry a ton of Badgley Mischka shoes so I would be shocked if you couldn’t find them for significantly lower than retail. I fully agree on #3 being a little office-y.
Side note: I TOTALLY almost bought your friend Jordon’s dress. That’s one that I kept coming back to and looking at. If I had seen her pictures, I might have. Wasn’t sure if all the beading/crystal would read as too blingy. Mine is actually supposed to be delivered today, though!
#1 all the way! You can add some sparkle to them for way less than $200 (I’ve seen vintage clip on earrings used as shoe clips and thing it’s so cute!) and use the extra cash for a post-wedding race entry ๐

#2 are so gorgeous and if you can bargain shop them, get them!! If not, #1 are pretty and would work well. I agree with your assessment of #3.
Veil — depends on dress style and how you’re wearing your hair, too. You can do something less traditional like a birdcage veil, too. I was on the fence about wearing one until I tried it on. You can borrow mine (for the wedding or just to try) if you’d like.
If you do decide to go with a veil – either make your own (easier than it sounds) or shop around once you’ve picked your style/length. Retail veils are ridiculously priced!
I definitely recommend wearing a veil. To me it’s what makes the look and really puts you in the bridal mind set. I love those shoes! I wore toms to my wedding. My husband is my height and no one could see my shoes underneath my huge dress so I figures why not be comfy? Haha best decision ever.

Stopping in from the linkup! I love choice #2 and #3…I would go with whatever is the most comfortable! And if I were you, I’d go yes to the veil…you’ll never wear one again! I plan on wearing mine for the ceremony and taking it off for the reception! Xx.

a girl after my own heart, i too wore navy shoes (http://ncbelleinboots.blogspot.com/2013/10/bridal-portraits.html) I love options 1 and 2. I ordered mine from 6pm.com they were Enzo Angiolini so you could see if they have your Badgley Mischka’s there for lower price? (they have an almost identical pair for $145)
I say veil, i was on the fence about one as well and happy i said yes to the veil as well. You can always take it out after the wedding, I did
I LOVE all of the shoes, but I vote for #1.
I feel like you just have to go with your gut on the veil. Maybe try a couple out? I’ve decided not to wear one. I was talking to my Mom about it and telling her how much I hated them(for me, not saying others shouldn’t rock them), and she was like, you know you don’t have to wear one…haha,so simple!

Totally true — I’m going to visit a shop and give a few veils a try ๐ Thanks for your shoe vote! I love them all as well ๐
I have only *just* started thinking about shoes. I suppose I should get a dress first, though.
No veil for me, but I might put flowers in my hair.

And I love the first pair of shoes. So simple and chic!

Love all this input, thanks y’all!!
oh love shoe #2! It’s your wedding splurge and I seriously think you would wear those again. Kind of a classic. Just trying to justify it for you!

Love it — thanks ๐
I say #1 just because they are the cheapest. One of my favorite pictures from my wedding is me holding up my dressing showing off my pink shoes and my hubby holding up his pants showing his black and pink argyle socks.
#1 is cute and you could use it again!

I do like #3, but you’re right, they aren’t very formal. #2 is gorgeous, but unless you can find them cheaper somewhere else, the frugal part of me has to vote for #1, which are lovely!

I love #1 for their simplicity. They’re a pair of shoes that you could definitely wear again and again. I actually need a pair of silver shoes for my sister-in-laws wedding at the end of May…I may considering purchasing these in the silver color!

LOVE #2, but agree that you should try looking at the discount sites. I was able to get these $300 Kate Spade sapphire blue shoes for $115, and I’m so in love with them: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/kate-spade-new-york-madison-sandal/3381840. Plus, just think how gorgeous they will look with a little black dress in the future!
I’m also rockin’ a veil (my something borrowed, from my sister) – I really like how it finishes the look, but I’m definitely anti-blusher – I would get super claustrophobic! Mine is also fingertip length – I’m not sure I could deal with a really long one, even though they can be beautiful.
Cute! I’m definitely scouring discount site ๐
LOVE #2. I totally splurged on my wedding shoes (thanks, mom!) because I normally don’t wear fabulous or expensive shoes, and I figured this would be the time! #1 is very cute too.
I am wearing a veil, looks similar to this: http://www.styleandelegance.ca/storage/Mantilla%20Veil%20Back.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1332096052539
I love the classic look of a veil, but don’t think they are necessary at all. I’ll just wear mine for the ceremony ๐
