Country roads, take me home
To the place where I belong:
West Virginia, mountain momma,
Take me home, country roads. – John Denver
Hey y’all! it’s Wedding Wednesday and if those lyrics don’t mean anything to you, here’s an education! I’m linking up with Jordon, Meredith and Mary and hope you’ll check out their blogs. Today I’m doing something a little different for Wedding Wednesday — instead of talking about my wedding (all me me me!), I’m going to share a bit from my friend Jenny’s wedding in Charleston, West Virginia this past weekend. Jenny is a friend from law school and a sizable crew of us headed up to West Virginia for the wedding weekend. It was, in a word, a wonderful weekend and I was so happy to share it with my friends! A little photo dump action:
We had so much fun — the Clay Center (a museum / theater) was a gorgeous space and also the place where Jenny and Billy first met. It honestly felt like we danced allllll night — in my opinion, that’s the mark of a good wedding!
So a little backstory on this next picture. In law school, at a Wedding Crashers themed party (yes, UVA Law was awesome), Tiffany, Jenny, Megan and I took a picture together in our wedding themed gear. This was way back in 2006. Now, just a few (ahem) years later, the four of us are all getting married within ten months of each other…and we are getting married in exactly the order we were standing in that picture. How ironic, right?
We’ll take another one of these pics at my wedding and then at Megan’s in August (Megan wasn’t yet engaged at Tiff’s wedding, so we didn’t take our group pic in the right order). It’ll be pretty cool to contrast the 2006 pic with the final pic in August! Finally, one more fun picture – Jenny and Billy left the ceremony in this cute little trolley, which they then sent back to the hotel to take us home. How adorable!
All in all, a great wedding weekend!
aw, that’s awesome!
