What I’m Cooking This Holiday

December 24, 2013 By: Courtney @ Eat Pray Run DC5 Comments

Merry Christmas Eve! This year has absolutely flown by and I can’t believe that Christmas is tomorrow! I thought I’d share some of the recipes I’ll be cooking up over the next few days!

holiday recipes

  • Roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon. The easiest thing in the world to make and so, so tasty. I’ll be taking a bunch of these over to my folks’ house for lunch on Christmas Day. All you do is roast your sprouts for about 35 minutes — toss them with olive oil, salt and pepper. Mix with bacon after the sprouts finish cooking. Then try not to eat the whole pan 🙂
  • Pot Roast. Even though I don’t eat a lot of red meat, I love a good pot roast. My favorite recipe is a crock pot recipe from Martha Stewart. I promise, it is fall off the bone good.
  • Cranberry Sauce. This is a new recipe for me — I’ve never made cranberry sauce from scratch but I want to try it out this year! I’ll be using this basic recipe.
  • Spiced hot cider. I love nothing more than heating up a big batch of hot cider, spiking it with a fun mixer and sticking a cinnamon stick in it. Delicious!

What’s your favorite thing to make during the holiday season?

Sounds yummy! I tried something new last week and tossed chopped raw bacon with my sprouts (which already had olive oil, salt, and pepper) and roasted everything together in the oven. Somewhat easier than cooking separately and so yummy!

Sounds delicious! My favorite thing to make during the holidays (or eat) is probably bread stuffing.
